The Chinese Lunar New Year: The Year of the {Metal} Rat

Happy New Year!

Today is the first day that I hold 1000 self-published books of By the Light of the Night in my possession. I began this journey nearly twelve years ago, and today, more than ever, I believe in the intervention of God and his spiritual associates {like Buddha, Coatlicue, Durga, Vishnu, Shiva, Allah and the ever-present antagonist: Satan}, who transform and connect every aspect of our earthly and spiritual lives.

The Year of the {Metal} Rat is significant in many ways: (1) the Rat commences the upcoming twelve-year cycle of assigned animals to the Lunar New Year, (2) the Rat is the first of all of the Zodiac animals, and he represents a new day, a new beginnings and (3) the Metal Rat casts the attributes of firmness, persistence, strength and determination to his human devotees. The Metal Rat is known for his wise business sense and his controlling, strong-willed and ambitious impulses. Kindly, nonetheless, the Rat’s human persona is patient, generous and can promote change and transformation for those who encounter him.

I write to you today on a computer purchased through my company, about a book with illustrations created, designed and published by my company, and with energy and enthusiasm that comes from the journey of starting my own company. Since my endorsement of coincidence is non-existent, the process of patience and methodology {the gifts that God knows I need, and He plans accordingly for them} has carefully traveled alongside apprenticeship to this occasion.

Quite honestly, I have no idea where to begin marketing this creation, this product that I hope people love. …and if not love, at least respect.

If you’re new to indie publishing, you’ll experience a newfound confidence through the practice of learning, and by means of quite a few mistakes. My blog will feature periodic entries on aspects of the indie process that might help you achieve your dream of holding your creation in your hands for the first time.

...last week I ordered Chinese food, and my fortune cookies read like this: “you are soon going to change your present line of work” and “you have an important new business development shaping up”. Let's see what happens!
